When you say Marloth Park, you also say "wildlife". Of course you will come for the amazingly impressive nature and the animals that go with it. There are several options for spotting animals.
You can stay in Marloth Park, where a number of animals will just come and visit you. Think of the zebra, kudu, warthog, impala, etc. These animals are fairly used to people. And you can even feed them. The animals do have a special diet. You can buy special pellets at the supermarkets or at Daisy's Den.
You can also see animals at the fence along the river, in Lionspruit of course in Kruger National Park. You'll have the best chance of seeing wildlife in Kruger Park in the morning and late afternoon, so adjust your plans and rhythm and you're guaranteed success.
Crocodile Bridge Gate, the entrance to Kruger National Park is about 20 minutes drive from Jackals Dream.
In Marloth Park you can take beautiful walks and bike rides along the river. Especially in the morning and just before sunset are the best moments of the day to spot animals. Walking and cycling after sunset is not allowed. From 6 p.m. Marloth Park is completely for the animals again and you can only move by car.
Various safari trips are organized from Marloth Park. You can book this with a company located in Marloth Park or SanParks and take short or longer tours through Marloth Park, Lionspruit or the Kruger Park. Our hostess can tell you a lot more about the possibilities.
It can get very hot in our region. A quick dip in the water to cool off can be very welcome. There is of course a splash pool, with hippo Bella, at our house. You can also go swimming in the larger swimming pool at the Henk van Rooyen park or at the swimming paradise (with slides) at the shopping center. Also restaurant Bos. has a lovely private pool.
From Marloth Park you can easily drive to Sabie, Graskop or Hazyview. The Panorama Route through the Drakensberg is a must see. Take a look at God's Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes or the Sabie waterfalls, the nature here is overwhelmingly beautiful.
The border crossing with Mozambique, Lebombo, is a half hour drive. This makes it easy for you to visit Mozambique for a day at the beach (note: you do need a visa!), But also a longer stay in Mozambique, for example to dive with whale sharks or snorkel with dolphins is fantastic.
The large city of Nelspruit is an hour away. Here you will find large shopping malls and for example noteworthy botanical gardens and Jane Goodall Chimp Eden, a shelter for Chimpanzees.
