At a glance

• Check-in: 3 PM – 6 PM. Check-out: before 10 AM.
• Maximum occupancy: 8 guests. The lead guest must be at least 21 years old.
• Payment: 50% deposit when booking more than 4 weeks ahead; full payment is due 14 days before arrival. Short-notice bookings require faster payment.
• Security deposit: ZAR 3,500, refundable within 10 days after departure, subject to the house rules.
• No parties, loud music or disturbances. We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy.
• No pets are allowed.
• Please leave the house tidy and report any damage.
• Wildlife roams freely in Marloth Park. Respect the animals and follow all park rules.

Booking & Payment

By making a reservation, you agree to these terms and the house rules. The property is for temporary recreational or business stays, not permanent residence, and may accommodate a maximum of 8 guests. Additional guests or visitors require prior written permission.

For bookings made more than 4 weeks before arrival, 50% of the rental price is due within 72 hours of the payment request. The balance is due 14 days before arrival. For bookings made within 4 weeks of arrival, full payment is required within 48 hours. Bookings made within 7 days of arrival must be paid immediately.

Rates include reasonable use of gas, water and electricity, Wi-Fi, tourist tax, bed linen and towels.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in is between 3 PM and 6 PM, and check-out is before 10 AM. Early- and late check-in, and late check-out may be arranged in advance, subject to availability and possible additional charges.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation fees are calculated as a percentage of the total rent:

• More than 6 months before arrival: 15%
• 4–6 months before arrival: 50%
• 2–4 months before arrival: 75%
• Within 2 months of arrival: 90%
• On the arrival date: 100%

We recommend taking out travel and cancellation insurance.

Security Deposit & Cleaning

A security deposit of ZAR 3,500 is required per stay and will be refunded to the original payment account within 10 days after departure, provided there is no damage or breach of the house rules.

Please leave the house tidy, return items to their original places, put clean dishes and cookware away, and dispose of rubbish at the designated municipal dump. Report any breakages or damage to us.

Additional cleaning costs of at least ZAR 1,000 may apply if the house is not left in accordance with the house rules. Costs for damage, excessive cleaning and rule violations may be deducted from the security deposit.

Noise, Parties & Conduct

Parties, loud music and other disturbances are strictly prohibited. We operate a zero-tolerance policy.

If security is called due to guest disturbances, a first warning will be issued. A second call will result in a fine and forfeiture of the ZAR 3,500 security deposit. A third call, or a particularly serious incident, may result in immediate removal from Marloth Park, termination of the rental agreement and no refund.

Pets, Smoking & Fires

Pets are strictly prohibited in Jackals Dream and Marloth Park to protect the free-roaming wildlife.

Smoking and open fires are not permitted inside the house. Fires are allowed in the designated braai area and must be completely extinguished after use. Fireworks, firecrackers and Chinese lanterns are prohibited.

Wildlife & Marloth Park Rules

Marloth Park is a wildlife conservancy. Wild animals roam freely and can be dangerous. Keep a safe distance, supervise children and never treat wildlife as pets.

All guests must comply with park regulations, including:

• Observe speed limits: 50 km/h on tarred roads and 30 km/h on gravel roads.
• No walking or cycling between 6 PM and 6 AM.
• No loud noise, particularly after 6 PM.
• Do not enter restricted parkland or remove plants, branches or other natural materials.
• Do not use spotlights, off-road vehicles or quad bikes in prohibited areas.
• Only feed wildlife appropriate game pellets or lucerne. Never feed mielies, mielie cobs or mielie meal.
• Dispose of rubbish at the designated municipal dump and use water responsibly.
• Secure doors, windows and valuables, and never leave food or rubbish accessible to wildlife.

All applicable Marloth Park regulations must be followed. Serious violations may result in fines or removal from the park.

Liability & Swimming Pool

Guests are responsible for their own actions and those of their group, including any damage caused during their stay. Jackals Dream is not rented to lead guests under the age of 21.

The swimming pool is unsupervised, and no lifeguard is on duty. Guests use the pool and surrounding area at their own risk and are responsible for supervising everyone in their group. Pool safety rules must be followed at all times.

Guests must sign the required liability waiver, including the swimming pool waiver, where applicable. The owner is not responsible for loss, theft, damage or injury except where liability cannot legally be excluded. Guests remain responsible for damage caused by themselves or their group.

Final Note

By booking and staying at Jackals Dream, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms and the house rules. Please treat the house, its surroundings, fellow guests, neighbours and wildlife with respect so everyone can enjoy the unique experience of the African bush.
